First Aid - Level I

The course is oriented towards those who may encounter emergency situations in daily life or work environments.

The program includes creating a safe environment, adult CPR with one and two rescuers, use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), wounds and bleeding, shock, trauma/burns/electrical trauma, as well as early recognition and first steps for life-threatening conditions (cardiac arrest, heart attack, stroke, seizure, diabetes, asthma, anaphylaxis).

• Environmental safety assessment and calling for help

• Understanding the "Chain of Survival"

• Performing adult CPR and safe use of an AED

• Recognition of foreign body obstruction and initial assistance

• Primary management of bleeding and shock

• First aid for trauma, burns, and electrical trauma

• Early recognition and initial response to life-threatening conditions (stroke, seizures, hypo/hyperglycemia, asthma, anaphylaxis)
