”By the end of the first week I understood that the internship in the Monitoring and Evaluation Team not only added to my experience in conducting specific sociological surveys but also provided an opportunity to observe all the processes encompassed by the program monitoring.”
Ana Kvintradze, Intern, Monitoring and Evaluation Team | I was so interested in and so much willing to get an internship at the MCG Monitoring and Evaluations Team that I went for an interview a day earlier than the set date. Only after I was interviewed I did realize that what awaited me ahead was hard work and much learning. The time was arriving to prove to myself whether or not I was capable to apply acquired theoretical knowledge in practice and thus facilitate my growth as of a professional. Being a student of sociology, it was highly important for me to engage in those surveys which were designed to evaluate the program. Such an attitude was prompted not only by my interest toward or experience in participating in such surveys but also by the fact that the applied method of program monitoring and evaluation was a rather new one, not frequently used in Georgia, unfortunately. By the end of the first week I understood that the internship in the Monitoring and Evaluation Team not only added to my experience in conducting specific sociological surveys but also provided an opportunity to observe all the processes encompassed by the program monitoring. Although the MCG internship lasted only six month, not a very long period indeed, the received benefit was a lot more than I could expect. Apart from the experience gained from the involvement in program evaluation surveys, the MCG internship proved to be an invaluable experience in terms of interacting with people, helping me develop the skills of applying diplomacy in everyday life and defending the own propositions in debates in a substantiated way. It was also a lesson learned how to achieve desired result and quality through hard work ... in limited period of time. After completing the internship I realized that I was already capable of independently planning and conducting surveys, ensuring proper quality and also, arriving for an interview on a set day.
| ”Working in the ADA has allowed me to better familiarize myself with the agriculture sector, to identify the problems and prospects which are coming to light in Georgia today.”
Guram Sagharadze Intern, Agribusiness Development Activity Team
| I am happy about having had an opportunity to take an internship in the MCG Agribusiness Development Activity and work with a team such as MCG. Being a graduate of the school of economy at the Tbilisi State University, it was important for me to apply the acquired knowledge in practice and it was the MCG that provided such an opportunity. The conditions created there enabled me to work with full load and show what I am capable of. I think the time spent at the MCG is a huge step forward in my career. Working in the ADA has allowed me to better familiarize myself with the agriculture sector, to identify the problems and prospects which are coming to light in Georgia today. Although six months is not so long a period of time, I admit, I gained much more experience than I anticipated. During the internship I worked on up to 200 business plans, traveled through regions of Georgia getting familiar on spot with the existing situation in regions, finding out priorities and potential of Georgia's agribusiness sector. It is my credo of life to set an aim and spare no efforts for achieving it. I would like to state that the time spent at the MCG and the experience gained there is a step forward and a solid foundation to achieve the aim I have set to myself.
| ”For me, as a future lawyer, it was very interesting to study and analyze the Millennium Challenge Compact and agreements that were entered into on its basis. The internship at the MCG was a step forward in my career and day after day, I realize its importance increasingly.”
Keti Uridia, Intern, Legal Team
| The internship at the MCG’s legal unit allowed met to get familiar with the principles of the MCG activity. The activity contributing to the economic development of Georgia is planned by many professionals. Any action to be implemented in this program is thoroughly worked out. The internship in the MCG gave me a chance to become, for a short while, a member of the team manned with highly-qualified people and working in concert. The most significant and valuable for me was to see employees treating each other with respect and taking into account opinions of colleagues. On the day of taking up the internship, I had a meeting with the MCG CEO. The meeting revealed that we held different opinions about the distribution of qualified people in Georgia. By the end of the meeting the CEO said he wondered if my opinions would change after the internship at the MCG. And indeed, they did change, I was convinced that there are companies which employ only highly-skilled professionals and the MCG is on of them. When I was given a task it never seemed a problem to ask questions, to state openly that I did not understand this or that. Such a relationship increased my chances of professional growth and I would like to thank every MCG employee for that. For me, as a future lawyer, it was very interesting to study and analyze the Millennium Challenge Compact and agreements that were entered into on its basis. The internship at the MCG was a step forward in my career and day after day, I realize its importance increasingly.

”Before taking up the internship at the MCG, I had a huge theoretical knowledge in applied sociology although scarce practical experience. The internship in the MCG helped me develop practical skills.”
Giorgi Sanadze, Intern, Monitoring and Evaluation Team
| The internship at the MCG Monitoring and Evaluation unit was a new page in my professional experience. I mastered statistical analysis software SPSS - a very important tool for sociologists working on quantitative surveys. My basic function in the MCG Monitoring and Evaluation Team was to deal with statistical data and I think I succeeded in performing this task. Before taking up the internship at the MCG, I had a huge theoretical knowledge in applied sociology (I am a second year masters student in sociology at the Tbilisi State University) although scarce practical experience. The internship in the MCG helped me develop practical skills.
| | “Considerable responsibility I felt for this period significantly predetermined my personal and professional growth.”
Irakli Berdzenadze, Intern, Agribusiness Development Activity Project
| | I am proud to say that an internship in MCG’s Agribusiness Development Activity was a quite productive and successful step in my life as of a financier. It enabled me to gain a western type experience in Georgia, which had a huge impact on my professional life. First of all the internship triggered a significant change in me, which helped me further develop personal skills, on the one hand, and show what I was capable of, on the other. It also allowed me to learn project management. Considerable responsibility I felt for this period significantly predetermined my personal and professional growth. I have very warm recollections of the environment where I worked and interacted. It was a team of impeccable professionals who never seemed tired of supporting me in my professional growth. I am very proud that I had an honor to be an intern in the organization which has done so much for the development of Georgia. | | "The six months spent here was not only the period of professional growth and gaining invaluable experience but also the period of friendship, relationship, mutual assistance and support." Mariam Lomtatidze, Intern, Procurement Team
| | I took up an internship at the MCG in October, 2008. Although I studied in Great Britain, namely, London, for five years, the internship in the MCG gave me an invaluable experience in mastering procurement-specific issues and relations as well as interacting with people. The six months spent here was not only the period of professional growth and gaining invaluable experience but also the period of friendship, relationship, mutual assistance and support. I am sincere in saying that every person in the organization has made their own contribution to my personal and professional development and I am very grateful to each of them and wish them success.
| | | "The talent is implied, but it should be transformed into knowledge!" In order to attain a set goal, the importance of the activity should not be underestimated. Natia Pavliashvili, Intern, Agribusiness Development Activity Team
| | “The talent is implied, but it should be transformed into knowledge!” In order to attain a set goal, the importance of the activity should not be underestimated. It’s worth mentioning that MCG is a clear evidence of this. The way interns are treated there teaches you to do your job properly as well as many other good things. For these six months I had an opportunity to contribute my small share in achieving the major goal of MCG to overcome the poverty through growth, in particular in the Agribusiness Activity Development Project. I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to the management of MCG, for allowing and maximally supporting me to exercise my professional skills.
